Within the public limited company Norther NV – which won the fourth licensed concession for the construction and operation of an offshore wind energy park in the North Sea – there’s been a major change in the stock ownership structure. Green power company Electrawinds, from Ostend, takes a 50% stake and becomes a partner of Air Energy, which acquired the concession for Norther in October 2009. Daniël Schurmans is appointed Supervisor, with overall authority for the project.

Norther is the fourth offshore wind energy park off the Belgian coast after C-power, Belwind and Eldepasco. The installed power is between 350 and 450 Megawatts.
